We, SELF Inc. (hereinafter, “We”, “Us”, “Our company”, etc.), will handle user information in SELF MIND provided by our company as follows.

1. Scope of Application

This Privacy Policy applies to SELF MIND (hereinafter, “the Service”) provided by our company. If provisions concerning the handling of User information are set forth in terms of service and the like that have been separately established with respect to the Service (hereinafter, “Terms of Service, etc.”), then those Terms of Service, etc. shall also apply. The Terms of Service, etc. shall be given precedence in the event of any conflict between the content of this Privacy Policy and the provisions of the Terms of Service, etc.

The collection of personal information (which means “Personal Information” prescribed in Article 2.1 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. And the same shall apply hereinafter) by other business operators who we link to, etc. is outside the scope of application of this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy applies to Users using the Service in Japan.

2. Purpose of Use of Information

We will use the personal information that we have acquired for the following purposes:

2.1. To prevent unauthorized use of the Service;

2.2. to enable the User to use the Service smoothly;

2.3. to create statistical data on Service usage;

2.4. to conduct questionnaires on the Service we are currently providing or services that we are considering providing in the future;

3. Provision of Information

We will never provide the User’s personal information to any third party except under the following circumstances:

3.1. When the User has consented to such provision in advance;

3.2. when providing information based on laws;

3.3. when the User has violated the Service’s Terms of Service and there are sufficient grounds upon which to deem that their personal information must be disclosed in order to protect our rights, property and services, etc.

3.4. when necessary to protect a person’s life, body or property and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the User in advance;

3.5. when particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound development of children and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the User in advance;

3.6. when necessary in order to cooperate with the execution, by a state organ, local public body, or party entrusted by either of the preceding, of matters prescribed by law, and obtaining the User’s consent could hinder the execution of aforementioned matters; or

3.7. when our business including the provision of personal information is inherited due to merger, company split, business transfer or for any other reason.

4. Entrusting of Information

We may entrust some or all of the personal information we have obtained from the User to our contractors within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use. In this case, we will select our contractors after careful examination of suitability, conclude agreements which set forth matters concerning confidentiality with our contractors and establish a system to properly manage information.

5. Information Collection Modules

The Service may incorporate the following information collection modules for the purpose of analyzing User information, delivering advertising and push notifications. And we will provide User information to the following information collection module providers along with this. These information collection modules use Cookies, etc. to collect User information without including personally identifiable information, and collected information is managed based on the privacy policy and other regulations of each information collection module provider. (Please refer to the privacy policy, etc. of each information collection module provider for further details.)

6. Rights of the User

6.1. The User may request our company to disclose their personal information that they cannot confirm on the Service in accordance with our separately prescribed procedures except under the following circumstances. However, this shall not apply if we are not obliged to disclose the information under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws:

(1) Disclosing the information may harm the life, body, property or other rights and interests of the User or another third party;

(2) disclosing the information may significantly hinder our proper execution of business;

(3) disclosing the information would violate laws and regulations; or

(4) we cannot verify that the request for disclosure is a request made by the User.

6.2. If as a result of disclosure the User has deemed the content of the personal information held by our company to be inaccurate, then they may request our company to correct, add or delete (hereinafter, “Correct, etc.”) their personal information in accordance with our separately prescribed procedures. We will investigate without delay and Correct, etc. the User’s personal information based on the outcome of investigation within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use in this case. However, this shall not apply if we are not obliged to Correct, etc. the information under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws.

The User will request disclosure of their personal information that they cannot confirm on the Service in accordance with our separately prescribed procedures.

7. User Information

We will appropriately dispose of the User’s information in accordance with related laws and our company regulations if the User has deleted their account on the Service.

8. Revision to the Privacy Policy

This privacy Policy is subject to change. In the case of important changes, we will notify the User of the revised content in an easy-to-understand manner.
